It's Tuesday morning and I'm still feeling a bit sore. Although I am quietly contemplating a gentle run on either Wednesday or Thursday depending on how I feel. In the meantime, here'a couple of shots taken during the race, aparently there is a video somewhere on the web but I'm struggling to find it.

Windsor Half Marathon
Well I made it...just about, but the prospect of a personal best was so far from reality that is wasnt funny. The weather was pretty warm for a September lunchtime, that coupled with the fact that the course was extremely hilly and I wasnt 100% fit meant that I finished in just over 2 hours and 9 minutes. I found the race extremely tough, both mentally and physically and I'm pretty sore this morning. However, I did reach the end and beat my previous time on the same course by over 5 minutes, which was done 7 years ago. Anyway, here's the my race as displayed in Nikeplus.18 September 2008
3 Days Left
It's now only 3 days until the Windsor Half Marathon, and I'm feeling OK. At one point I thought I was going to have to pull out with a nasty cold that appeared to be on it's way. It's never really got there and I'm hoping I'll be fine on Sunday. I'm pretty nervous as it's the furthest I have run since the London Marathon but I've been running a fair bit since, including some seriously hard sessions in searing heat whilst in Spain. Fingers crossed I'll be fine but what would really make things special is a sub 2 hour time, unlikely at the moment with my rib injury and lack of intense training recently but there's always hope!!!

At last, the video clip of me on the BBC doing my interview with Jonathan Edwards shortly before running 26.2 miles. Looks like African Revival will be showing this clip at the forthcoming Pink Elephant Ball at the Hurlingham Club in London as I've just dropped the DVD down to their office. Half Marathon Sunday and I'm not feeling too good, fingers crossed I will be OK to do it!!

2 Weeks to RunWindsor Half Marathon
With only two weeks to go until the Windsor Half Marathon, I thought it about time I stepped up my distance. I've been running maximum 6.2 miles since the London Marathon so yesterday was my attempt at upping the distance to 8 miles. I had a good run, fairly easy and in a respectable time of 1 hr 13 minutes which I was pretty happy with. My ribs are still a bit sore but with some ibuprofen inside me, it wasnt too bad. Although my legs are a bit sore today I'm planning to do some serious running this week building up to 10 miles next Sunday. Fingers crossed it will all be OK!!!

3 Weeks to Windsor Half Marathon
I've been struggling over the last few weeks with my rib injury, this has prevented me from training at all. However, things have improved in recent days and with a few pain killers I've been able to get back to running. I managed a 10k run a couple of days ago to see how things would be and despite some discomfort, I did OK. It took me about 8 or so minutes longer than normal but I was running uphill on the treadmill and hurting a little....well done Kev :)
Anyway, I have just over 2 weeks left until the Windsor Half Marathon which is a little worrying but what the hell, in for a penny, in for a pound. Talking of pounds, I'm happy to say that since returning from Spain I've lost 4-5 pounds in weight, hovering very close to the 13 stone mark which is really what I'd prefer to be my maximum!!! With next years London Marathon fast approaching, I want to be in the best shape possible to achieve my goal of under 4.5 hours!!
